Virus Blog

5 Days. No new October surprises. In fact, some consistency. Trump continues to talk about the Virus which I think most would agree is a losing topic for him, but why let a little strategy get in the way of a good rally. Something like 53% of the people that voted in the 2016 election have already voted this year in early voting. Hopefully all of this will mean that early voting becomes a thing. The stock market is wobbling at a time when Trump would love for it to be booming. The economy, for some reason, is his strongest story. That's not working so well right now. Still looking for Florida to be called on election night for Biden by 8:30 PST. And if that happens while there are possibilities left on the board for a Trump win, any chess player would resign immediately when that happens. I have a new mantra that I'm playing with:
Bye Don
Biden
Bye Don
Biden
Bye Don
Biden
Not the most creative, but I like the ring of it. So that's my Facebook post for Tuesday. Hope I get to use it.

Halloween. Are we bad people for not creating an elaborate candy deliver system in order to preserve the holiday? Lights out at our house for the first time ever!
Is it Safe? That's a question that we find ourselves increasingly asking. The answer usually goes something like this:
We're cleaning better than ever before
We've added safety barriers
We offer complimentary hand sanitizer
We've reduced capacity, increased space or moved outdoors
We do a temperature check
We require masks
These are the basics. It's rare to get all 6 but this is the list companies draw from. There are a few steps missing from this list: a test and a quarantine. I heard a story today about a summer youth camp that took the "test and quarantine" route creating their own NBA-like "bubble." A bubble that didn't require masks or distancing once you were admitted. The virus made it into the bubble through one kid who would infect 100 more. And after the week of fun they all dispersed and took the virus back home with them across the country. No it's not safe.
Almost Nothing. The number of deaths are "almost nothing," said the president's son, Don Trump Jr. That's on a day with over 1,000 news deaths. We're up to 235,000 deaths today and the expectation is that it grows to 2,000 plus deaths a day by Christmas.
