Midday Shower. I read an article yesterday suggesting that if you work from home, you should take your shower in the middle of the day. The article suggested that we spend so much structured time, that we needed unstructured time just to think and there is no risk of getting interrupted by screens in the shower. I have no plans to change my "first thing" schedule but the idea of taking a mental break in the middle of the day is something I've done since day one. Of course, I don't call it a break. I call it a dog walk. Nothing like a dog walk to think things through and "process." Still the place that I consistently get most of my best ideas.

10, 9, 8, 7 ... We are well within the final count down with 6 days to go until the election. I'm a numbers guy and while I understand that polling is about probabilities and that nothing is certain, the numbers are aligning for a Democratic sweep in both houses of congress as well as the presidency. While most of the oxygen is going toward the court battles that could ensue with the expressed purpose of suppressing votes. The Supreme Court slapped the state of Wisconsin for not anticipating a global pandemic and insisted that despite the dismantled postal service, all ballots have to be RECEIVED by election day. Dems are saying it's too late to mail your vote. This is all noise. The polling data tells a story of somewhere around Biden winning 350 college votes. States like GA, NC, IA, AZ all leaning blue. The outliers are still there and they quickly get the headlines: Poll Sees Trump Victory. Don't believe it. I'm calling it right now. I think it's too late for an October surprise. I don't care about weather...I don't care about last minute news stories...if this were a court case the attorneys would respond "submitted" to all remaining questions from the court. The information is in. It's time for the jury to decide.
1) 52 Senate seats
2) Biden wins Florida on election night dampening any legal challenges
3) Trump does not make an "adult" concession speech
4) NO republicans are heard supporting any further investigation thus crumbling any enablement from supporting law makers
5) Trump will say, "China got their way" and Greg will say "And so did the American people."
6) If all of the above doesn't happen, suicides will rise (potentially including this author)
Italy. The seven day average growth in cases is over 4%. For most of the past six months they sat at 0.2% daily growth and haven't seen levels like this since early April when Italy was leading the way. By comparison the US is spiking but with a 0.9% growth rate and San Mateo county is now about half of that.
