One Story Days. The news feels bigger and more urgent. Like a fireworks show that seems like it can't get bigger, all of a sudden keeps getting bigger. Getting the virus exactly one month before the election and after getting regularly criticized for not doing everything to protect people appears to have spread virus among everyone he's close to. This is a classic fourth act plot twist and one the moviemakers will use. Today's story is about trying to manipulate the perception of what's happening as the White House puts out conflicting messages about his overall health and who knew what when. Did the president just get caught putting his interests ahead of his donors? Ahead of his staff? The latest suggests he knew he was positive and failed to immediately take precaution to protect others. And tomorrow there will be 29 days until the election.

Confidence. Starting to see a steady stream of increasing confidence that a Trump win is unlikely. No one wants to predict his electoral death and yet the the signs have consistently improved for a Biden win. With the current illness that undermines a core plank of the president's reelection case, it's hard to believe that he can change what looks increasingly like an inevitability a month from now. That's what worries me. When Trump realizes that he is on path for an embarrassing defeat he'll do two things, he'll find someone to blame (that seems like a given) and he'll take even more risk. What do I mean? He's going to fire something at someone. Not sure what he will fire but I'm thinking big bomb instead of a human being getting fired. In terms of the "who" I suspect he'll take aim at one of his beloved s-hole countries as a means of distraction. I guess it's possible that his covid diagnosis will create a sympathy vote, but now I feel silly for having written the first half of this sentence.
Clean Air. Green air with highs in the low 80s and a nice breeze.
