Convention. It was night two last night of the Convention turned TV show. I've been impressed with the quality and mostly the editing effort that has gone into this production. I have to say that while I don't get suckered in too easily by manipulative productions, I found myself having hope that indeed we can get this country on not just the right course, but any course at all! I felt gravity establish itself after 3 plus years of aimless drift. I allowed my hopes to rise. I concluded that I'm not sure I'll be able to handle it if the Democrats lose. Time to send more money.

Fire on the Mountain. San Carlos is thick with smoke and the smell seems to have permeated the house. Lightning started some fires on the ocean side of the hill that runs the length of the peninsula. If it's not one thing it's another.

The Speech. Last night's convention speech by Barack Obama, was maybe the best speech of his career.
