Greg in the 80s
I had just graduated from UCSB with a degree in economics and an interest in journalism. Follow my heart or follow the money. The money won out but throughout my life I've stayed close to writing and photography (as evidenced by this website). I remember that my father would write the LA Times Letters to the Editor on a regular basis. His opinion pieces were always long, thoughtful and frankly, to my taste, a little boring. Possibly because I was bored or just saw it as an opportunity to compete with my father, I embarked on a multi-year campaign to get my letters published. My letters were short and pithy. After a couple of years, I had more letters published (during that timeframe) than my father. Forty years went by before I saw them again. I'm not sure that my letters were important contributions to society, but nevertheless I've published them below as part of my official record!
