The Day SF Was Dark
The fires blazed up and down the state as well as in Oregon and Washington. The entire west coast was blanketed by smoke, poor air quality and another reason to stay inside during a pandemic. The shots below were taken mid-day. The orange skies brought visions of Mars, the persistent sunset made it impossible to see in the house without artificial light. The fires were a very long way away but the impact (more psychological than physical) was striking.
