Greg and Scott flew to LA for the day to see the Giants play the Dodgers in Dodger Stadium. The family rivalry has become the focus on great jousting over the last few years.
Greg and Scott were up at 6am, at the airport by 6:45 and flying on a fully loaded Saturday morning flight by 7:45. Much to Scott's chagrin he only middle seats were left on the plane forcing him to sit with strangers with his Dad one row behind.
We picked up Greg's grandmother Vicky Harris and escort her to the home of Irene Krepack, who volunteered to make a splendid brunch for all of us. Greg's grandfather Manny Berkowitz was the senior member of our delegation that included Greg's mother, brothers and their families. On full stomachs we piled into three cars for the game.
The game went back and forth but the Dodgers overcame a one run deficit with a 2-out rally in the bottom of the 9th to win. Yet another classic Giants collapse to the Dodgers which pleased the tiny of handful of LA Fans still left in the stadium for the 9th inning.
We learned first hand what is wrong with the Dodgers. It's their stadium! Or at least the exits. We sat in bumper to bumper traffic that continued once we hit the freeway.
The heat of the day drove us back for a post-game swim followed by an evening at Hamburger Hamlet where we met up with Lisa and Zoe Dutton who were returning from their trip to Washington, DC.
Scott and Greg repeated their journey home exactly 24 hours later.
