Orange October

To be a Giant fan means to never expect to be watching baseball in October. The Giants never get there easily and this year was may the most unlikely of journeys to the World Series. With one of the worst records of teams squeaking into the playoffs, the Giants were expected to lose in every series. But, just ask fans for the Pirates, Nationals, Cardinals or Royals and you may agree with GM Brian Sabean that while this team is not flashy they are like "cock roaches" who you could never actually kill. Indeed they did win their third World Series in five years. This year required pulling off a seventh game win in Kansas City stadium and it was a nailbiter to the end with a one run margin of victory. The whole post season was great fun. We brought Kevin home twice so he could see his first playoff games.
