Silicon Sunrise

I was without my camera for over two months. It felt like an eternity. I fretted through hassles with both the manufacturer and independent repair facility (learn more about the hassles). My level of worry was more appropriate for a hospitalized child. When my camera finally arrived home after three transcontinental traverses, it was like new and I was itching to take her through her paces.

The following day was a Saturday and Kevin had an all day event that required his arrival at school well before sunrise. I am in charge of all transportation at ungodly hours. After dropping him off, I saw a twinkle in the sky as the dawn slowly broke. I realized that I was being given a gift of color and I eagerly accepted. After no fewer than 100 snaps I felt fully sated and the result are these two images of the October 17, 2009 sunrise over the Silicon Valley
